Privacy policy
Too Many Projects shows the Asana tasks assigned to you on one timeline, with analysis of how much runs in parallel and how reliable your dates are. This policy says what data the extension handles and where it goes.
Your Asana data stays in your browser
The extension reads your tasks and their date history directly from Asana into your browser. It does the analysis in your browser. Your task data is never sent to us or to anyone else. Task names, projects and sections are held in memory only, while the extension page is open. To avoid reading the same history again every time, the extension keeps a few numbers per task on your device (see the table).
The extension only reads. It cannot create, change or delete anything in Asana. It asks Asana for read-only access: tasks, task history, projects, users and workspaces.
Task history is read with the date fields only. Comment text is never requested.
What the extension handles
| Data | Where it goes | How long it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Task names, dates, projects and sections | From Asana to your browser | In memory while the page is open |
| Date changes in task history | From Asana to your browser | In memory while the page is open |
| Numbers worked out from each task's history: days late, number of date changes, how many were made by someone else (a count, no names or IDs), how many were made on or after the due day, planned-vs-actual ratio, net days pushed | Extension local storage, on your device only | Until the task drops out of your task list, or you sign out |
| Who made a date change | From Asana to your browser | Compared with your own Asana user ID, then discarded. Other people's names are never shown. |
| Your Asana sign-in tokens | Between Asana and your browser, through our sign-in relay (below) | The long-lived token is kept in the extension's local storage until you sign out. The relay keeps nothing. |
| Your own Asana user ID | Extension local storage | Until you sign out |
| View settings (time range, mode, theme, lane colours) | Extension local storage | Until you remove the extension |
Sign-in relay
Asana requires a secret key when an app signs a user in. A browser extension cannot keep a secret, so sign-in, token refresh and sign-out pass through a small relay we run on Cloudflare Workers. The relay adds the key and forwards the request to Asana. It sees your sign-in tokens in transit. It does not store them, does not log them, and never sees your task data.
Donations
The extension is free. It shows a link to a donation page on Ko-fi. Following that link opens an outside website in a new tab. The extension sends nothing to that website, and nothing about whether you donate changes what the extension does.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data.
- We don't use your data to train or evaluate AI models.
- We don't run analytics or tracking in the extension.
- We don't show or rank colleagues. Metrics about other people's changes are shares only, such as "62% of changes made by someone else".
Signing out and removing data
Sign out from the extension's header. That revokes the extension's access with Asana and deletes the stored token, your user ID and the per-task numbers. Removing the extension from your browser deletes everything it stored.
Asana
Too Many Projects works with Asana. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by Asana, Inc. Your use of Asana is governed by your agreement with Asana and, where applicable, your employer.
